Fox News to Liz Warren: “Will You Take a DNA Test?” Here’s Her Answer…

Poor Elizabeth Warren. It seems that nagging story about her Cherokee ‘ancestry’ is just not going to go away.

Yes, Fox News John Roberts did ask her about it on one of the Sunday shows, but that controversy had been resurrected earlier in the week by an editorial in a liberal paper, the Berkshire Eagle. The editorial implored Warren to take a DNA test and resolve the controversy surrounding her ancestry, writing:

“So we call upon our senior senator to screw up her courage and take the spit test. “If she already has but is keeping the results under wraps, we urge her to be forthcoming with them. She has nothing to lose but her Achilles’ heel.”

It’s this very editorial that Roberts cited when he asked Warren point blank, “Would you be willing to take a DNA test to put this issue to rest?”

Mediaite recorded her response:

“Let me tell you a little bit about my family,” Warren said, going on to say that her father’s family were opposed to her parents’ marriage because her mother was part Native American.

“I know who I am because of what my mother and my father told me, what my grandmother and my grandfather told me, what all my aunts and uncles told me and my brothers,” she concluded. “It’s a part of who I am and no one is ever going to take that away.”

“We will leave it there,” Roberts noted.

The problem for Warren is that Roberts might leave it there, but the rest of America won’t — especially when she decides to run in 2020.

Worse is the ethical can of worms she opened for herself by playing this Native American race card at Harvard. Karl Rove pointed this out last week when he explained how she used her heritage to apply for academic jobs where it would have been advantageous to be a woman with a diverse background.

More from Fox News:

“She used it to her advantage and has shied away from it when she got called on it,” Rove said, calling it a “pretty tough editorial” from a paper that endorsed her in 2012.

Chris Stirewalt said Warren has a “serious 2020 problem,” and this is just one part of it.

“She has a problem with social justice Democrats and identity politics Democrats who deeply resent a white woman of privilege taking advantage of carve outs that are set aside for Native Americans,” he explained.
